Over 161,000 Jeep Wranglers Recalled

Apparently 161,450 2007-2008 Jeep Wrangler owners who opted for the automatic transmission may end up taking their trucks into their local dealership for an important fix. According to the US NHTSA, the trucks were manufactured without a transmission temperature sensor, leading to overheating issues. Without the sensor, there is no warning system, so there’s the possibility that drivers may continue driving, causing the transmission fluid to boil over, potentially leading to a fire.

The fix involves the installation of the needed sensor as well as the fitment of a warning light that is accompanied by an audible chime, should the transmission overheat. This service will be performance free of charge at all Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealers in December.
