Dodge Celebrates the Challenger with a 50th Anniversary Edition

Dodge’s iconic muscle car was initially launched in 1970, which means it’s about to turn 50. To celebrate this milestone, FCA has created a limited-production Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition for 2020.

Only 70 units will be sold in Canada, all of them based on the Scat Pack 392 Shaker model and identified with a serialized plaque. They will be exclusively painted in Go Mango orange similar to the original Challenger.

Some of the distinctive features include a black Shaker hood with a body-coloured hood scoop, silver-painted brake callipers, Air Catcher headlamps with LED-illuminated “50” logos, plus Challenger 50th Anniversary logo badges on the grille and rear spoiler.

Inside, heated and ventilated black Nappa leather and Alcantara suede performance seats feature Sepia accent stitching and embroidered “50” logo seat backs. Real carbon fibre instrument panel and console bezels with a copper weave and Alcantara door bolsters featuring a unique accent stitch create a premium cockpit feel that is unique to the 50th Anniversary Edition package. Premium Berber floor mats feature an embroidered “50” logo.

The 2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition houses the famous 392 HEMI V8 rated at 485 horsepower and 476 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with the eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, while the six-speed Tremec manual transmission is available.

All 2020 model-year Challenger SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye models will also feature a 50th Anniversary badge.
