Refreshed 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage to Return to Canada
The small-car segment is crumbling. Several models were dropped in recent years and a few others won’t return in 2020.
Mitsubishi is no exception, having just announced that the Mirage G4 sedan will no longer be sold in Canada.

What about the five-door Mirage? This one was unveiled with fresh styling inside and out at the Thailand International Motor Expo yesterday (production also takes place in that country) and we have confirmation by Mitsubishi that it will continue to be offered on this side of the ocean. The timing of its launch will be specified later.
The biggest change can be seen up front where the Mirage sports a more dynamic look in line with the recently updated 2020 RVR. The entire grille, headlights, fog lights and chrome accents have been redesigned to hopefully attract more drivers.
The rear section has a wider, more athletic-looking stance with a newly sculpted bumper. Other highlights include a prominent rear spoiler atop the liftgate, a sleeker 15-inch wheel design and a flashy new yellow paint.
The interior of the Mitsubishi Mirage features more ergonomic armrests, soft-feel fabric on certain touch points and a sporty carbon pattern on the dashboard and power window switch panel. Of course, the pictures you see here show the Thai-spec Mirage with right-hand drive.
Upper-trim levels will be offered with special seats that are upholstered in a sporty-look fabric/synthetic leather combination. The addition of piping and stitching provides contrast.
Oh, and there’s a new multimedia system with a seven-inch display and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
You won't find any changes under the hood, unfortunately. Expect the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 78 horsepower. The five-speed manual gearbox can be replaced by a continuously variable transmission.
Canadian pricing for the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage has yet to be announced, but it will most certainly remain among the cheapest on the market.
