This is What the Next Volkswagen Golf GTI Should Look Like

Just days after the world premiere of the all-new Volkswagen Golf, renderings of the Golf GTI have started to pop up on the web.

X-Tomi Design’s take on the sporty Golf variant is quite realistic. And we like it a lot.

In typical fashion, the car features a red strip and a “GTI” badge on the front grille. Another badge appears on the front fenders.

The wheels appear to be slightly larger than those on the regular Golf introduced last week, while the mirror caps are finished in black.

It’s too early to discuss the engine under the hood, however. The current generation uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

The next Golf GTI and Golf R should be revealed sometime in the next few months.

The Car Guide has learned that the new Golf will not come to Canada until 2021 as a 2022 model.
