Two Special Editions for the 2020 Ram Trucks

As we’ve said repeatedly, full-size pickup manufacturers can’t afford to take a break. And when a major event like the annual State Fair of Texas comes around, every one of them must seize the opportunity to present something new.

In the case of FCA, two special editions of the Ram 1500 and Ram Heavy Duty were announced in Dallas.

This comes just a few weeks after the automaker announced numerous changes to Ram trucks for 2020.

2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition

First, the most luxurious trim level in the Ram 1500 lineup gets a Black Edition that stands out with the following black accents: the grille with R-A-M letters, badging, tow hooks, exhaust, headlamps, grille surround, bumpers, door handles and side-view mirrors.

Other standard features include 22-inch black wheels, tonneau cover and sport performance hood.

You can order this special edition of the Ram 1500 Limited in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations and with the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 or the 5.7-litre HEMI V8. In Canada, pricing starts at $75,465.

2020 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition

For those who want a bigger truck, FCA is adding a Night Edition to the Big Horn and Laramie versions of the Ram 2500 and 3500 Crew Cab. It includes a monochromatic design enhanced by a black grille with body-coloured surround, black badging and black 20-inch wheels.

For the first time, Ram Heavy Duty trucks equipped with dual rear wheels now get 17-inch black wheels with machined pockets.

Buyers can opt for 4x2 or 4x4, once again, and either a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 or a 6.7-litre Cummins turbodiesel six-cylinder. Remember, the latter produces up to 1,000 pound-feet of torque. Here, pricing starts at $62,840.

The 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition begins arriving at dealerships in just a few days, while the 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition goes on sale later this fall.
