The Audi A6 allroad is Likely Headed to Canada

Last year, the German automaker unveiled the wagon version of its midsize A6. Since we received confirmation that it wouldn’t be sold in Canada, we decided not to talk about it.

In early June of this year, Audi struck again by launching the A6 allroad, a high-riding variant of its wagon, obviously following the same recipe as its A4 allroad sister. Another beautiful wagon that we wouldn’t be getting.

However, we were delightfully surprised to discover that the A6 allroad has appeared on Audi Canada’s website.

It’s not officially on sale yet, but we can already reserve a copy, which is good news. Compared to the A6 Avant—the regular wagon version—the 2020 Audi A6 allroad benefits from increased ground clearance, perfect for confronting the streets of Montreal, but also cladding and bumpers that give the car a more robust look. We can equip it with alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches in size. We can also choose a Black Optics package that darkens the grille, the headlight clusters, the wheel arches and the mirror caps, among other things.

Inside, we’ll find the same environment as in the 2019 Audi A6 sedan. That means we’ll be treated to a centre stack that flaunts two touchscreens—one for the infotainment system, one for the climate control system—and a fully digital driver instrument panel. Music lovers will likely appreciate the optional Bang & Olufsen Premium 3D stereo. The cargo area boasts a volume of 565 litres with the rear seatbacks up and 1,680 litres with the seats folded down, slotting in between the Q5 and the Q8.

Under the hood, we’ll be getting a turbocharged, 3.0-litre V6 with mild hybrid technology, which develops 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It’s all connected to a dual-clutch, seven-speed automatic transmission and, of course, quattro ultra all-wheel drive.

An on-sale date is unknown for the time being, but the 2020 Audi A6 allroad chez arrive in dealerships before the end of the year. We estimate its base price at around $75,000 before freight and delivery charges.
