Final Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Exits Plant; Watch and Bid on it!

FCA made it very clear last year when it launched the industry’s first and only purpose-built, street-legal production drag car (capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds): production would be limited to 3,300 units and a single model year.

Well, the end of the run came yesterday when the last 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon rolled off the line at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Ontario.

The car will now travel to an upfit centre for its final stages of assembly, which includes adding a hand-painted exclusive Viper Red exterior colour, 18-inch aluminum wheels, 18-inch Demon drag radial tires, Demon vehicle badging and a one-of-a-kind VIN instrument panel badge.

Demon auctioned for a divine cause

As previously reported, here’s probably the more interesting part: the final Dodge Challenger SRT Demon AND the last 2017 Dodge Viper will be auctioned as a pair in “The Ultimate Last Chance” end-of-an-era offer at the June 20-23 Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction held at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut.

It will likely top Barrett-Jackson’s sale of a one-of-a-kind 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in 2014, which raised $1.65 million for charity. By the way, all of the proceeds will go to the United Way.

If you do the quick math, the winning bidder will take home a combined 1,485 horsepower, including 840 from the most powerful production V8 engine in history and 645 courtesy of the Viper’s 8.4L V10 engine.

Surely you remember that the hand-built American supercar bowed out at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit in August 2017 with an homage to the first-generation Viper RT/10 (Viper Red exterior and black interior).
