The North American Car of the Year Awards Go To…

As usual at the Detroit Auto Show, the first press preview day began with the unveiling of the North American Car of the Year awards. And the winners are…

North American Car of the Year: 2018 Honda Accord. The midsize sedan beat out its eternal rival, the Toyota Camry as well as the sporty Kia Stinger. The NACTOY (North American Car & Truck Of the Year) jury copied The Car Guide’s choice for 2018… Just kidding.

North American Utility Vehicle of the Year: 2018 Volvo XC60. This SUV, which has impressed many since its launch, beat the Honda Odyssey and the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

North American Truck of the Year: 2018 Lincoln Navigator. The 2018 Detroit Auto Show largely showcased pickup trucks, as Chevrolet, Ram and Ford unveiled their new models. However, it’s next year that they will all be eligible for the NACTOY title. This year, the Navigator took first place ahead of its cousin the Ford Expedition as well as the impressive Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.

Congratulations to this year’s winners!
