Nissan Canada Announces Pricing on the All New 2009 cube

Nissan Canada Inc. (NCI) today announced pricing on the all new 2009 Nissan cube(R), on sale across Canada for the first time this spring. With an MSRP of $16,998, the base model is already fully loaded with standard equipment rarely offered in the entry-level market including air conditioning, privacy glass, full power features, Vehicle Dynamic Control System (VDC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), cruise control and Remote Keyless Entry.

With a focus on safety, standard on the cube(R) are Advanced Airbags for both driver and passenger, Side Seat Airbags (front) and Curtain Side Impact Airbags in the front and rear.

"Cube(R) is a truly unique vehicle and in keeping with this Nissan is offering an extensive list of standard features seldom seen in this vehicle segment," said Jeff Parent, Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Nissan Canada Inc. "Cube(R) offers exceptional value and expressive design that makes a big statement, in a small package."

The 2009 Nissan cube(R) is offered in two well-equipped front-wheel drive models: cube(R) 1.8 S and cube(R) 1.8 SL. Cube(R) is built on Nissan's proven B-platform and is available with a state-of-the-art, 122-horsepower, 1.8-litre DOHC 4-cylinder engine. For the S model there is a choice of Nissan's advanced, smooth shifting Xtronic CVT(TM) (Continuously Variable Transmission) or 6-speed manual transmission.

For those seeking the ultimate cube(R) experience, the 1.8 SL model comes standard with Xtronic CVT and includes 16" alloy wheels, front fog lights, auto climate control, iPod interface system and Nissan Intelligent Key(TM) with Push Button Ignition. The optional tech package includes Bluetooth(R) Hands-free Phone System, Rockford Fosgate subwoofer with six upgraded speakers, XM(R) Satellite Radio (XM(R) subscription required, sold separately), and rear back-up sensors.

Nissan's cube(R) also meets the practical needs of today's active, environmentally aware drivers, providing a small footprint with a large interior space - along with a fuel efficiency of 6.5L/100 km (43 MPG) Highway with the CVT transmission (2009 Transport Canada Figures).

The 2009 Nissan cube(R) builds on the heritage of two previous cube(R) generations with a thoughtful, expressive design that is economical, dependable and fun to own. The new cube(R)'s roomy interior is designed as an inviting social space for up to five passengers, with comfortable front seating and a three-position sliding, reclining theatre-style rear seat.

Cube(R)'s unique upright design with wraparound glass and small overhangs in the front and rear provides a distinctive driver experience and increased visibility. The front door windows utilize a "photo frame" design, while the asymmetrical wraparound side/rear window creates enhanced rear diagonal visibility for lane changes and reverse parking. Unique interior features include asymmetrical Fine Vision gauges, "Water Drop" interior accents and detachable multi-hooks.
