How Much For A Koenigsegg Regera?

Launched at the Geneva Motor Show, the Koenigsegg Regera impressed the journalists in attendance (who are notoriously jaded). With a 5-litre V8 and 3 electric motors producing more than 1,500 horsepower, performance is obviously up to par. However, one of the most interesting parts of the vehicle is between the engine and the rear wheels; there is no transmission, meaning that the power is sent directly to the differential. Add to that a relatively light weight (1,420 kg) and ridiculous performance -0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 150-250 km/h in 3.2 seconds- and you get one of the fastest cars ever created.

A UK-based dealership just listed the car on their website, and that gave us the final piece of the puzzle: the price. With performance that renders a lot of today’s supercars obsolete and a production run limited to 80 units, we expected the price to be high: the Koenigsegg Regera can be yours for 2.1 million euros ($2.94 million CAD).

If you’ll excuse me, I’ll go grab my check book.
