Peugeot 308 named Car of the Year in Europe

A group of 58 judges has named the Peugeot 308 the 2014 European car of the Year.

According to them, it was a clear win. With a score of 307 points, it was well ahead of second place, the BMW i3, with 223 points. Third place belongs to the Tesla Model S, with 216 points.

The judges said that the Peugeot was "stylish" and exudes "quality and elegance". They were also impressed by its lightweight EMP2 platform and the selection of frugal and efficient engines.

The 308 becomes a competitor in the World Car of the Year, competing against the Audi A3, the BMW 4-Series, the Ford Fusion, the Infiniti Q50, the Jeep Cherokee and the Lexus IS, among others.
