Ford Recalls C-Max Hybrid For Faulty Roof
Ford has announced a recall which affects approximately 30,000 C-Max hybrid vehicles built between Jan. 19, 2012, and June 25, 2013.
Passengers’ heads are likely not to receive adequate protection in the event of a crash. The problem was discovered during National Highway Safety Administration testing that exceeded the head injury criteria.
As a result, Ford will begin notifying owners next month so they can have additional energy absorbing material installed in the headliner and roof.
C-Max models with the panoramic roof are not affected by the recall. No injuries have been reported that are related to the recall issue.
The C-Max has been a success for far for Ford. The strong sales of the model contributed to Ford’s record setting first quarter hybrid sales across the lineup of 24,217 vehicles.
